YouTube Lectures: March, April and beyond…

I’ve just announced the next online lectures in the series – for March and April 2026 (see here) – and at fairly late notice… I’ve been travelling a great deal since the start of the year and have generally been very busy, too busy in fact, and so I’ve decided that it’s time to take a break. In general I’ve had more work in the last couple of years than I ever have, and on top of that life has thrown a few curveballs my way. I wrote a longer explanation (at a particularly stressful moment in January) here.

So, I’ve decided to pause my lecture series on YouTube for the summer months (May onwards), but hope to resume later in the year. I realise that many of you who are channel members will not wish to continue with your monthly subscriptions and I understand that completely. Lecturing online is now a very important part of how I earn a living, but lately I’ve reached the point where I’m no longer confident that I can give the time each month to the preparation – reading, writing and creating presentations – that is necessary for the kind of high-quality, in-depth talks I want to give. I intend to spend the summer months researching and writing material which I hope will provide the basis for a new series of talks in the autumn.

The complete archive of past lectures (see here) will remain accessible to channel members only, although I may also make one or two of the talks from the last year or so available to everyone for a limited time.

Of course, I hope it will be easy enough for you all to restart your subscriptions when the lectures resume and that you will feel you want to do so. I realise that I may not get back all the subscriptions I lose by not providing any new talks during May to August, but having the time to recharge my batteries a little, and start work on the new series will make for better lectures in the long-run.

I want to say a really big thank you to all those who you have joined the channel. I have really enjoyed giving these talks over the last eighteen months and I would never have been able to do that were it not for your support. So thank you, I’m sorry to be taking a breather now, but I hope to see you all again at the talks this month and next, and when the series resumes later in the year.
